Now he gets it!

Louie isn't the brightest - he is very pretty and very lovely and adorable, but not the most intelligent. After 8 years of being bullied, he finally stood up for himself and now he has mastered something else after 9. I wish he hadn't for this one...
There's a 'thud'....'thud' and I look down at Louie who is looking down at something. Then 'thud' as he pounces on it. Yep, he had a little mouse. Very sweet, very pretty and very alive. I slid off the chair and Louie raised up enough for me to get my hand over it - he was just poised over it, not giving it anywhere to go, not harming other than terrorising it. I reached over for the tea towel that was just there and picked up mousey and put it safely in the tea towel, before shutting Lou in and taking it outside.
I let it go and it ran off and took shelter under all the undergrowth on the banking at the back of my house, though in a way, I feel a bit mean as it is snowing out there! But it is safe and is now running away home to be warm and cosy with its family.
Louie is now in hiding. To give mousey a chance, I've locked his cat flap closed and covered it with a board so he can't damage it whilst barging his way out to go get poor mousey. He probably thinks there's a cat box and a trip in his future and I'm going to let him keep thinking that for a while - hopefully it will be a deterrent to his new found knowledge that he can bring things in through his door. For 9 years he hasn't done it - I dread to think what I'm going to find from now on...
Ah well...
At least this one has gone home safely and unharmed.Current Mood: pleased
